Planning your visit
Bring previous test results and a list of medications and supplements. Ask whether preparation is needed, when results are expected and how the team will explain any recommended next steps.
Before your appointment
- Bring veterinary records and current medications.
- Tell us your main questions and any recent changes.
- Call to confirm preparation, availability and estimates.
What laboratory testing can tell us
Blood tests, urine tests and fecal tests answer different questions. A veterinarian may recommend testing to investigate a new concern, check a pet’s health before a procedure, or monitor an ongoing condition. Results are considered alongside the examination and medical history.
What happens next
The team will explain which samples are needed and whether they can be collected at the appointment. Some tests can be processed in-house; others may need an outside laboratory. Ask when to expect results and who will contact you. A result may lead to follow-up testing or a change to the care plan.
